Replacing the V-belt on an electric lawnmower
Hello,
I recently ran into a problem with my lawnmower:
I was mowing the lawn when, while cutting through some tall grass, I suddenly smelled a faint burning odor and the mower stopped working. The motor was running, but the blade wasn't spinning.
I unplugged it and checked to see if grass was jammed in the blade (there wasn't any), and I was quite puzzled. The blade turned easily by hand. I removed the blade and saw a rather tattered piece of material behind the protective cover; I suspect it’s a fragment of the drive belt (V-belt).
I don't know the exact manufacturer of my lawnmower. So, I assume a repair isn't possible, and I'll have to buy a new one.

Not having a label on the mower is not a big problem. You can take out the old belt and check its size to find a replacement. There are websites like https://udcparts.com/ where you can look for spare parts and belts for different garden machines. Before putting the new belt on check the pulleys and spindle bearings too. They should turn freely without getting stuck.
