Impact: Community Capacity Projects
We believe in the power of service to bring people together and create positive change in our communities. An important component of Leadership Atlanta and LEAD programs is community capacity projects. Each year, project teams from the classes work collaboratively on critical initiatives that support and help Metro Atlanta’s non-profit organizations achieve their mission.
Leadership Atlanta seeks to partner with Atlanta nonprofit organizations as Project partners. The Community Capacity Projects aim to provide a civic engagement opportunity for class members. The goal of the project is for each group to collectively learn about and address a critical community need while providing value-added support and consultation to a local nonprofit in achieving its mission.
The duration of this partnership is during the program year. For Leadership Atlanta, it is August 2026- April 2027.
For LEAD, it is August 2026 - March 2027. To get a sense of what this project will entail, we encourage you to browse our Project Impact Videos from the 2026 Cohort below.

Ronald McDonald House Atlanta
The LEAD class of 2026 cohort project provided Ronald McDonald House Atlanta with mission-aligned, strategy-driven research and recommendations to help us develop a corporate partnership framework and toolkit, which is essential to establishing us as an essential family-care infrastructure in Atlanta’s pediatric ecosystem. We enjoyed working with this team and appreciated the time they invested in understanding the heart of our mission – from cooking and serving our families at the House to volunteering at our Housewarming Celebrations for our new House in November and December of 2025. We are grateful for their passion, dedication, and genuine desire to understand our impact in the greater community. Their work will make a real and measurable difference as we continue to serve more families, how we partner, and how we show up every day for the families who call our House home.

Executive Director
Second Helpings Atlanta
The 2026 LEAD Atlanta community service team played a critical role in advancing our Food Rescue Hub initiative, delivering a site-selection scorecard, a pitch deck, and an innovative meals estimator that went above and beyond our request. Their work gives us the tools to identify the right locations, assess feasibility, and confidently engage property owners to bring these hubs to life. We are incredibly grateful for the time they invested in understanding our mission, the challenge we hope to solve with the Hubs, and in translating it into high-quality, actionable deliverables. This work is helping us build a logistics network for good that keeps quality food out of landfills and gets it to more neighbors who need it most.
