I just picked up the ELFA Master in 'Midnight Silver.' I’ve dropped my old plastic ELFA on rocks twice and it cracked. This metal casing feels like it could survive a fall from the Eiger. Has anyone noticed if the metal affects the connection to the pods?

The metal body is mainly for durability and a more premium feel.
