The Metal Upgrade – Is It Worth the Weight?

I just picked up the ELFA Master in 'Midnight Silver.' I’ve dropped my old plastic ELFA on rocks twice and it cracked. This metal casing feels like it could survive a fall from the Eiger. Has anyone noticed if the metal affects the connection to the pods?

From my experience, the metal casing doesn’t really affect how the pods connect. The connection is handled by the internal magnets and contact pins, so as long as those are properly aligned and clean, performance should stay consistent. The metal body is mainly for durability and a more premium feel.

If anything, it might even hold its shape better after drops compared to plastic, which can help keep connections stable over time. Devices like the Elfbar Elfa Master are built more for toughness than changing how pods function.
