I’ve been sketching some ideas for characters in my upcoming project, but I can’t decide if I should commit to a 2D style or move toward 3D. Both have their strengths, but I’m worried about biting off more than I can chew if I go full 3D. Anyone here who’s been through this decision, what made you choose one over the other?

The deciding factor was scope. I love 3D, but the workload can easily balloon with rigging, texturing, and animations. With 2D, you can still get really expressive characters while keeping production lean. If you’re working solo or in a small team, 2D might give you more control and faster progress.
